PARAPROFESSIONALS
Paraprofessionals provide social, physical, and academic support in general and special education settings, including but not limited to the cafeteria, classrooms, recess, and assemblies. These services may include ambulatory, eating, toileting assistance, behavior management, academic interventions/enrichment, and data collection.
Pathways to becoming a paraprofessional with Orchard Farm School District.
1. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Have 60 credit hours from an accredited college/university OR
Complete the 20 hour substitute certification course
Each pathway will allow the applicant to obtain a Missouri Substitute Certification.
Paraprofessional Assessment pathway will not be avaialble after June 23, 2024.
Newly hired paraprofessoinals are reimbursed the cost of their substitute certificate application and fingerprinting if obtained within 30 days of hire. Ongoing paraprofessionals are required to keep the obtained substitute certification, therefore, the district will reimburse the cost of the application and fingerprinting associated with ongoing certification while employed.
