FY25 High-Demand Occupations for Distribution (1).pdf
The School Counseling Department is an integral part of Orchard Farm High School’s educational framework. Our program is developmental by design and includes sequential activities organized and implemented by professional school counselors with the active support of parents/guardians, teachers, administrators, and the community. As a developmental program, it addresses the needs of all students by facilitating their academic, career, and personal/social development as well as helping create a positive and safe learning climate.
The counseling program includes school counseling curriculum, individual student planning, responsive services, and system support. The program is designed to help students acquire competencies in the following strands: personal and social development, academic development, and career development.
School counselors are available to assist students with career planning, including college programs and scholarships opportunities, as well as provide academic support. School counselors are also available to help students overcome personal problems; however, school counselors do not provide traditional therapy. Students requiring more intense psychological support will be provided with community referrals. The counseling staff, along with building teachers, also aid students in planning high school coursework to best meet present and future needs. School counselors also serve as case managers for 504 Non-Discrimination Plans. Parents are encouraged to contact a school counselor for any related information.
