
Orchard Farm R-5 residents may file as candidates for the Board of Education on December 6, 2022, through December 27, 2022. Three positions with three year terms on the Orchard Farm Board will be decided on the April 4, 2023. Interested persons may file at the Administration Office located at 3489 Boschertown Road in St. Charles, MO.
Candidates may begin filing at 8:00 a.m. on December 6, 2022, and will continue during the district’s regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Filing will end on December 27, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.
Filing will not occur on days the school district’s offices are closed due to inclement weather. Filing will also not occur on the following holidays when the school district’s administrative offices are closed:
Winter Break: December 22, 2022 through December 26, 2022 and December 27, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Filing will be accepted on December 27, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Citizen of the United States of America. MO. Const. Art. VII § 162.291, RSMo.
- Resident taxpayer of the Orchard Farm R-5 School District. §162.291, RSMo.
- Will have resided in Missouri for a minimum of one year immediately preceding the election, if elected. § 162.291, RSMo.
- At least 24 years of age § 162.291, RSMo.
- Not delinquent in payment of any state income taxes, personal property taxes, municipal taxes or real property taxes on their place of residence. If an applicant is a past or present corporate officer of any fee office, that office cannot be delinquent in the payment of any taxes owed the state. § 115.306, RSMo.
- Have not been found guilty of nor have pled guilty to a felony under the federal law of the United States. § 115.306, RSMo.
- Have not been convicted of, found guilty of or pled guilty to a felony under Missouri law or an offense committed in another state that would be considered a felony in Missouri. § 115.306, RSMo.
- Not be registered or required to be registered as a sex offender pursuant to Missouri law, § 162.014, RSMo.
- Have filed, or the treasurer of an existing candidate committee has filed, all required campaign disclosure reports with the Missouri Ethics Commission, when applicable, for all previous elections in which they were candidates. § 130.071, RSMo.
Oath of Office
Newly elected or appointed members of the Board officially qualify as Board members when they take the oath of office and sign the oath, as required by law.
