Project Search

Orchard Farm R-V School District is a proud member of the Project SEARCH partnership in St. Charles County. Project SEARCH is an internationally recognized school-to-work transition program for young adults with significant disabilities. Working toward a goal of competitive employment, students from three St. Charles County school districts participate in three ten-week internships at Embassy Suites St. Louis-St. Charles. Students reach employment goals through the support of classroom instruction from a certified special education teacher, job coaches, and host-site mentors.

Project SEARCH sites are located in several countries and in more than forty states, as well as the District of Columbia where host sites include both the Department of Labor and the Department of Education. St. Charles County was home to the first Project SEARCH site in Missouri at Barnes-St. Peters Hospital. The partnership began its relationship with Embassy Suites, where it permanently moved in 2015.

Project SEARCH partners include: City of St. Charles R-6 School District, Developmental Disabilities Resource Board of St. Charles County, Easter Seals, Embassy Suites St. Louis-St.Charles, Francis Howell School District, and the Missouri Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.
