Are you having trouble opening files?
Is your Chromebook loading sites or documents slowly?
Does it seem like your Chromebook is lagging or acting strange?
Is your Chromebook working fine, then not, then fine again, and then not?
Try these five options to remedy the situation.
1. Hard Reset
Press the refresh and power button at the same time. This gives the Chromebook a kick-start and will get it running up to speed.
2. Check for Chrome OS Update
If your Chromebook is running an old version of Chrome, documents and sites will load slowly, and your Chromebook will be glitchy.
Check to see if you need an update. You will be required to log back in, but you will not lose any data and all tabs will be restored.
3. Remove your User Account
Removing your account and adding it back onto the Chromebook resync's your Google User Profile and will often fix glitchy issues with Chromebooks.
4. Too Many User Accounts
Your account should be the only account on your Chromebook. Multiple user accounts will slow your Chromebook down because, each times it boots up, it must load profile information for all of the accounts on the login screen. To ensure that your Chromebook is running at maximum speed, remove any other user accounts on your Chromebook other than your own (see #3 above for instructions on how to do this).
5. Too Many Tabs Open
Each and every tab that you have open will slow your Chromebook down, especially if you are using sites that require a lot of bandwidth, like YouTube. To speed up your Chromebook, keep your open tabs to a minumum.
