Canvas Page or Assignment Not Loading
If a page, like or an assignment is just spinning and not loading, there are two options to fix it, and depending on your Chromebook, you may need to do both steps.
1. Update your Chrome OS
Look at your toolbar. If you see an arrow in a circle, please click on that arrow, and then click "Restart to Update." You will need to log back into your Chromebook once this is complete, but you will not lose any work. All of your tabs will be restored. But Canvas struggles to function properly if you are running an old version of Chrome.
2. Resync your user profile
Sign out of your Chromebook. On the sign-in screen, click the arrow to the right of your username, and then select Remove Account. It will then pop up with another box where you will need to click Remove Account again. Then you will need to log into the Chromebook - at that time, it will reload your user profile, which will then resync with Canvas.
3. Teacher Assistance
Sometimes, it is a setting on the teacher's end. If you have done steps 1 and 2 with no luck, please email or speak to your teacher to make sure it is not something that he or she can fix for you.
If you did all of these steps and you still cannot load something in Canvas, please refer to Step 2 on the Student Tech Help Desk homepage to request further assistance.
