Kindergarten Development Screening

Child Screenings Now Available
Posted on 03/26/2018
Why have your child participate in a Kindergarten screening?
A developmental screening is an informative and fun process for both the parent and the child.  The parent learns about their child’s current level of development and can gain information on resources to assist with any concerns.

What to expect?
A comprehensive screening will be completed in the following areas:  vision, hearing, fine motor, gross motor, speech and language,
social emotional, conceptual development

The screening is held at the Early Learning Center and takes approximately 45 minutes. This screening should not take the place of regular checkups with a health professional (doctor, health clinic, etc.) Once the screening has been completed, an OFSD Parent Educator will contact you to review your child’s screening, provide you with a written summary, make recommendations for follow up activities and/or refer to additional services.

Parents as Teachers is a parent education and family support program serving families with children from birth to Kindergarten entry. Parents as Teachers base their foundation on the fact that YOU are your child’s first and most important teacher, so we are here to support you.  Parents as Teachers provides FREE developmental screenings for children 3 months old to Kindergarten entry.
