Hello Orchard Farm Families,

As I am out speaking to members of our community, I hear many of you are anxiously waiting for the District to share our return to school plan for the upcoming school year.  While our plan is not yet finalized, I wanted to provide you with an update.

Rest assured, every decision we make will be rooted in our commitment to equity and access to quality instruction for ALL students supported with safe and best practices during a pandemic.

We are hopeful that we will open all schools to all students on August 24th, with the implementation of important safety measures designed to protect the health and well-being of our students and staff. We are working closely with the St. Charles County Department of Public Health, the MO Department of elementary and secondary education, and our neighboring Districts to prepare for students to return to the classroom. All school districts in the entire region now anticipate releasing that information no later than July 24th.

While we are actively focused on developing plans for students and families who are ready to attend in-person school, we will also be providing options for students and families who are not ready or medically unable to attend school in-person. We are also planning for blended scenarios consisting of in-person and virtual instruction, and a fully virtual option if the need arises.

It is our goal to have a thoughtful, methodical reopening plan that meets student instructional needs and strikes a balance between the health concerns posed by COVID-19 and the needs of our community. We thank you for your patience and look forward to sharing details with you as soon as possible. Thank you.

-Dr. Tom Muzzey, Superintendent
