After a substitute has worked for the district 3 full-day teaching/paraprofessional positions, turn in all receipts to human resources for reimbursement.
(Reimbursement includes: substitute certification application fee* ($50) and fingerprint background screening fee for OFSD ($41.75))
*Application fee must be within 30 days of hire notice to be eligible for reimbursement
GET REIMBURSED FOR THE 20 HOUR FRONTLINE EDUCATION COURSE FOR CERTIFICATION!
After a substitute completing the 20 hour course certification route and working 10 full days for the district will be reimbursed the full $180 Frontline Education Course Cost* (will not reimburse taxes).
*Must be recently approved November 2021 approved DESE course

All substitute teachers must have minimum 60 credit hours in order to obtain a Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) certificate OR completed the DESE required 20 hour program to obtain a certificate.
If you have questions about obtaining a substitute teaching certificate please click here to visit DESE's website. (Fingerprinting will be required to obtain a certificate. Please register for a DESE account and use the district's code when registering 1781. This can eliminate the applicant from a double expense.)
Substitute Teachers are on call, as needed basis with no benefits as a temporary employment. Continued substitute employment requires active substitute participation and completed annual training requirements.
Employment requires completion of FBI/MSHP criminal history through fingerprinting, Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) and Missouri Casenet. All background screenings must be completed before employment with the district can begin.
