Generally speaking, any damage or issues with ports will need to be addressed by an OFSD technician.
If there is an object stuck in a port, please do not attempt to remove the object yourself as this may cause more damage to the port. Please seek assistance on the Student Tech Help Desk homepage.
Charging Port
If your charging port is damaged and will no longer hold your charger properly for charging, this Chromebook will have to go in for repair. This will incur a damage fee to repair. Please see Step 2 on the Student Tech Help Desk homepage to request assistance.

USB Port
If the USB port becomes damaged, you will need to seek assistance with this Chromebook, so please see Step 2 on the Student Tech Help Desk homepage. This port cannot be repaired or replaced, but the OFSD technicians will be able to give you an adapater to use.
Headphone Jack
If the stem of the headphone jack is stuck in the port (has broken off in the port), you will need to seek assistance with this Chromebook, so please see Step 2 on the Student Tech Help Desk homepage. We do not recommend attempting to remove the broken jack on your own, as this may cause more damage to the port. If the OFSD technicians are not able to successfully remove the jack from the port, they will be able to give you an adapter.
If the headphone port seems fine but you are not hearing any sound come through the headphones, please see our page for Audio/Video for more troubleshooting tips. It is possible that it is a setting that is causing the issue.
