Discovery Databases

Databases are a valuable tool when it comes to research.  

Our databases contain a wide variety of print materials and other media types, including magazine and newspaper articles, encyclopedia entries, book chapters, ebooks, maps, timelines, images/photos, video clips and pod casts.

 Database  Description
 Explora  Explora (powered by EBSCO Host) searches non-fiction collections, K-8 e-books, primary search, and a topic overview for K-5.
 World Book Student  World Book Student is an online encyclopedia searching text, media and geographic content for students.
World Book Kids World Book Kids is an online encyclopedia searching text, media and geographic content for lower elementary students
World Book Spanish  World Book Spanish is an online encyclopedia searching text, media and geographic content in Spanish for elementary students.  

Important Note for using World Book: 
When you are using World Book databases, a username and password is required.  The username is OrchardFarm, and the password is ofsd2005.

Important Note for using Explora and other EBSCOhost Databases:
Explora and other EBSCO databases will not require a username or password when accessed while connected with an OFSD Wi-Fi connnection (on campus).  However, while using these databases at another location, a username and password is required. For the username and password, please contact Mr. King.
