Teacher Spotlight on Mrs. Wolf by Savannah Kluesner

Subject- 7th grade Math
She sponsors the Math Club.
She hosts the Pi Contest.
Interesting fact- She is originally from Sweden.

Mrs. Wolf is a great math teacher. Some of the concepts of math that I struggled with never really sank in until she taught me. She also has special rules and hand symbols to help you remember things. All in all, she's a great teacher!

Want To Be Part of Something International? by Savannah Kluesner

Join International Club! International Club is an educational, but fun way to learn about the world and try foreign foods. It is like a model UN (United Nations) and each person is an ambassador of a country they choose. It meets every Friday. They work on world problems and solutions, and every fourth Friday there is a party where you can sample foods from different countries. Each month has a theme country, and they learn about that country. If you are interested in other countries, you should definitely join International Club! You can turn in the sheet any time before January. Hope to see you there!

Book Review: Gone by Savannah Kluesner

Gone is a really good science fiction book by Michael Grant. In this book, every person fifteen and older disappears, and if you turn fifteen, you'll disappear, too! However, it wasn't always this way. It happens one day for seemingly no reason. The main character, Sam, has a strange talent that could get him in trouble, and has, on occasion. To top all of that, every resident left in Perido Beach has to face the fact that they are surrounded by a sturdy, endless grey brick wall, and the whole place is turning into a dictatorship. Along with being fast paced and simply a good book, the point of view shifts from character to character, so you always have a fresh set of eyes. It may seem like a long book, but if you get into it, the pages will go by VERY fast!

Book Review: The Mark of Athena by Savannah Kluesner

The Mark of Athena is the third book in The Heroes of Olympus series. This book is about seven demigods that have to save the world from certain destruction. Some demigods are from the Greek camp, some are from the Roman camp, but they must come together or their mission will fail. The problem is, these two camps have been at war for as long as anyone can remember.  Meanwhile, Annabeth has problems of her own. She has to follow the mark of Athena and avenge her mother, but is not sure what is right. The prophecy warns that things could end wonderfully… or horribly.

This book is suspenseful, adventurous, and full of humor. It alternates between four characters and each one has their own personal turmoil. All the events leading up to the end scream fantasy and excitement, and the end itself will leave you biting your nails for the next book!

Riddles by Austin Dreckshage

1.    What falls but doesn’t break, and what breaks but doesn’t fall?

2.    I'm as big as an elephant, but lighter than a feather. What am I?

3.    For some I go fast.  For others I'm slow. To most people, I'm an
obsession. Relying on me is a well-practiced lesson. What am I?

4.    What kind of rocks does Frankenstein have in his collection?

5.     What is put on a table, cut, but never eaten?

6.     You can find me near the river any day, and you can make
almost anything out of me. What am I?

7.     If you say my name I am no more. Who am I?

1.Night and day  2.The wind  3.Time  4.Tombstones  5.A deck of cards  6.Clay  7. I am Silence. You are silent until you speak. When you say silence you break it. Therefore, silence does not exist when you say "it's" name.

The Three Elves by Zachary Payne

There are 3 elves in the woods. The first one says, “I think I have the smallest hands in the world.”  He goes and checks the world record book and says, “Yes, I have the smallest hands in the world!”

The second elf says, “I think I have the smallest ears in the world.”  He goes to check the world record book and says, “Yes, I have the smallest ears in the world!”

The third elf says, “I think I have the smallest brain in the world.”  He goes to check the world record book, but he’s all sad, so the first and second elves say, “What’s wrong?”  The third elf says, “Who the heck is Britney Spears?!"
