Our Vision Statement
Orchard Farm Middle School, along with family, home, and community, will work together to provide a positive educational experience for each and every student. In order for our students to be well-rounded, caring, and productive members of society, the middle school believes:
- Students must experience a quality education in a positive learning environment where they feel safe and accepted.
- The academic, emotional, and social needs of the students will be met through rigorous educational experiences, continuous contact with positive role models, as well as co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities.
- High expectation, partnered with guidance and discipline, will allow each and every student to successfully reach their potential.
STEM Camp 2012: This is a half-day camp that will take place at Discovery Zone between 8am until noon on June 11th through the 15th . You will need to provide your own transportation to and from school.
This camp is for students who are interested in improving their math skills no matter what level they are at the moment! Students entering grades 7-9 next school year can take part in this cool camp. Only a maximum of 30 students will be able to participate so space will fill quickly.
The participants will work on math while using the Khan Academy and Scratch software to further develop and improve their math skills no matter what level they’re currently on.
Besides increasing their excellence in math the students will participate in creative activities both indoors and outdoors. These exciting activities will be based on STEM which stands for “Science, Technology, Engineering and Math”. The students will work together to use their math skills while applying them to various situations.
Awards will be handed out on the last day of camp to students who have excelled the most compared to where they started. Everyone will get small rewards and certificates and also a cool T-shirt.
This is the second year Orchard Farm participates in this Partners for Progress STEM Math Camp and we are extremely excited to offer this to students and to be a part of encouraging our students to excel in these extraordinary important subjects!

On March 23, 2012, Mrs. Riordan and students Katy Dalton and Nikki Weber held a fundraiser to support Lupus Research.
About 70 Middle School students participated, and we raised $387.10!!
· First round winner: Aaron Smith, 6th grade
· Second round winner: Matt Burgess, 7th grade
· Girls Tourny winner: Meredith Knobbe, 8th grade
· Boys Tourny winner: Hunter Engle, 7th grade
