Welcome to the Orchard Farm High School Website

Orchard Farm High School is again proud to be a host of the 2012 FAFSA Frenzy.  FAFSA Frenzy, a program of College Goal Sunday, is offered in Missouri through partnerships between the Missouri Department of Higher Education (MDHE),  the Missouri Association of Student Financial Aid Personnel (MASFAP), the Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority (MOHELA), the Lumina Foundation for Education and the YMCA. The goal of the FAFSA Frenzy is to assist parents of college-bound seniors to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid, with assistance from professional student aid representatives.  This is an exciting opportunity for Orchard Farm to host this type of event and the event is open to the public.  No reservation is needed.  The date for the event is Sunday, February 12th from 2-4 pm.  The inclement weather date will be Sunday, February 19th from 2-4 pm.  More information can be found at www.dhe.mo.gov/fafsa_completion.php.

Parents of high school students will receive their student’s registration form for enrollment of classes during the 2012-2013 school year in the coming weeks.  Our schedule for students is as follows:
·         Current juniors will receive forms on 1/30 and forms are due by 2/10
·         Current sophomores will receive forms on 2/6 and forms are due by 2/17
·         Current freshmen will receive forms on 2/13 and forms are due by 2/24
Please take some time to review your student’s schedule and have a discussion with them about graduation requirements and classes that they need to take to prepare them for life after graduation.  Graduation requirements are located in their student handbook and are also available on the high school website.

Congratulations go out to the following young men and women who have qualified for Academic All-State during the most recent Fall sports season.   Achieving Academic All-State requirements speaks volumes about the academic and athletic achievements of the following students, who are listed by sport below.  They truly define the term “scholar-athlete”:

Softball: Shannon White, Samantha Starr, Casey Ward, Emily Echele and Whitney Strain (all two-time recipients of the award)
Football: Zachary Bine (3x recipient), Phillip Cooley (2x recipient), David Roy and Brendan Finley
Volleyball: Lillian Adams (4x recipient), Jessica Moffitt (2x recipient), Jessica Le, Erika Buchheit, Brooke Semke

On behalf of the faculty and staff of Orchard Farm High School, we appreciate the opportunity to work with your student and encourage you to contact us with any questions, comments or overall opinions about your student's high school experience!

Sincerely,

Brian Smith, Ed.S.
