Welcome to the Orchard Farm High School Website--Home of the Eagles

I am pleased to announce that Orchard Farm High School’s Project Lead the Way (PLTW) pre-engineering program has been certified by the national PLTW organization.  High schools planning to offer four or more PLTW courses are eligible for certification and may begin the process at the end of the second year of implementation. OFHS is still subject to quality and/or technical assistance visits required by PLTW state leadership teams, but OFHS is a certified PLTW school for the next five years.  Our students who take PLTW courses benefit from this certification by being able to earn college credit for successful high school completion of coursework at various post-secondary institutions such as Missouri University of Science and Technology, St. Louis Community College, University of Central Missouri and the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Congratulations go out to Dustin Mann, Neal Lyon, Tiffany Doggett, Shannon White and Jessica Moffitt for their selection to the Academic All-State Basketball teams!   The Academic All-State basketball teams are sponsored by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association and they recognize basketball players who excel on the court and in the classroom.   A complete list of Academic All-State players can be found at http://www.mobca.org.

Congratulations are extended to David Roy, as he has received an appointment to both the United States Naval Academy as well as to the United States Military Academy.  David has accepted his appointment to the Naval Academy and will report to the Academy on June 28th, 2012 for Induction Day.  Only 8.4% of students who apply for acceptance to the Naval Academy receive an appointment, so David is in select company.  He receives a full-ride scholarship to the US Naval Academy and will receive a commission as an Ensign in the US Navy upon graduation from the Naval Academy.  In return for his full-ride scholarship, David will commit to an active-duty service obligation after graduation.  Congratulations David on your appointment and for your willingness to serve our great country!

Ann Chen has been chosen to participate as one of 330 scholars in the Missouri Scholars Academy during the summer of 2012.  The academy is administered by the University of Missouri and provides educational experiences and enrichment opportunities which may differ significantly from those provided in the more traditional high school setting.  This is a great opportunity and honor for Ann and Orchard Farm High School congratulates Ann on her selection!

Finally, our senior parents continue to work hard to raise enough money for the Chemical-free All Night Graduation party.  Donations (both financial and other gifts) are still being accepted.  If you would like to donate to the graduation party, please mail your donation to the high school (2165 Highway V, St. Charles, MO  63301) or contact Terri Echele at (636) 250-5400 or techele@ofsd.k12.mo.us for more information.

On behalf of the faculty and staff of Orchard Farm High School, we appreciate the opportunity to work with your students and encourage you to contact us with any questions, comments or overall opinions about your student's high school experience!

Sincerely,

Brian Smith, Ed.S.
