Family Dinner Book Club

We are putting the Family Dinner Book Club on hold for the 2021/2022 school year.  But you can still participate with last school year's selections if you would like.  You will find the resources listed under the months on the left side of this web page.  Please let me know if you have any questions.    -Mrs. Jaggi

Reading together as a family is so important!  That is why OFES offers the Family Dinner Book Club to our families.  This school year marks our 3rd year of taking part in the program.  So far we have done an around the world theme and a kids making a difference theme.

This year's theme is books that have been made into a movie.  Each month your family is invited to read the selected book and then dedicate an evening to a family movie night.  Some of the books will be picture books that can be read right before watching the movie while others will be chapter books that will need to be read prior to the movie night.

The title of the book will be announced on the first Friday of each month on our library's website and in the school newsletter.  All of the book selections are available at the public library.

For each book selection you will receive conversation starters, a menu with recipes, and a family activity.  You can pick and choose which activities your family takes part in.  The most important aspect of the Family Dinner Book Club is spending time with your family and reading together.

Please share any pictures of your family reading night with Mrs. Jaggi so they can be added to our Family Dinner Book Club bulletin board and our Facebook page.

Family Dinner Book Club was developed by Jodie Rodriguez from Growing Book By Book.  She has given us permission to promote the program and its resources.
