We’re looking for community residents to be READING VOLUNTEERS.
- Spend just one hour a week with a child in Kindergarten to 4th grade to build reading and language skills, self-esteem, and positive attitudes toward school.
- Read, talk, and write together; become friends.
- Receive free training, materials, and on-going support.
- We will work with your schedule.

Highway Patrol Open Record Check
The Orchard Farm R-V School District would like to thank you for offering to serve as a volunteer. We appreciate your dedication to the district and the students we serve.  Attached you will find the Missouri State Highway Patrol Request for Criminal Record
Check provided by the Department of Education. The following are instructions for completing the "open record check."
• Complete the Missouri State Highway Patrol Request for Criminal Record Check form.
• Return completed form and $10.00 check or money order made payable to "Treasurer State of Missouri" (no cash) to OFSD Central Office, attention: Beth Workman.
• After receipt of clearance from the state, your name will be added to the list of approved volunteers. Please call the school office if you would like to check to see if your results have been received by the district.
 
Must always be in the presence of a district staff member
Required annually (July 1 – July 30)
Strongly recommend doing in June or July
MO Highway Patrol screening based on name and social security number
Not reimbursed
Lead time needed:  4-6 weeks

FBI Fingerprints
The Orchard Farm R-V School District would like to thank you for offering to serve as a volunteer.  We appreciate your dedication to the district and the students we serve.  Attached you will find the “S” form and FBI/Highway Patrol Background Check Procedures sheet provided by the Department of Education.  The following are instructions for completing the fingerprint process as well as some “tips” provided by one of our parents who has gone through the process.  Again, thank you for volunteering. 
 
Check with the building principal to see if this is the appropriate background check for your volunteer situation.  The principal must approve before you proceed.

Complete the “S” form and return it to OFSD Central Office, attention: Beth Workman
 
The phone number to call L-1 Enrollment Services Division to schedule a fingerprinting appointment is 866-522-7067.  You can pay by check or credit card over the phone or you can take a cashier’s check or money order on the day of the appointment. They do not accept personal checks.  The charge for the background check, effective October 1, 2007, is $52.20.
 
You can also make an appointment on the L-1 Enrollment Services website (http://www.l1enrollment.com/ and click on the map of Missouri icon.  This site allows you to fill out the forms and pay beforehand by credit card.  The site is having some issues and sometimes makes you fill out information a couple of times before it continues on.

Extra OCA identifier is:  Unclassified/non-certified employee
 
Parents need to take one or more forms of ID (driver’s license, state ID, passport or military ID).
 
No walk-ins are allowed.  The appointment should only take 10 minutes.
 
After receipt of clearance, your name will be added to the list of approved volunteers.  Please call the school office if you would like to check to see if your results have been received by the district.
Reimbursement for the fingerprinting will be made at the next Board of Education meeting following receipt of clearance from the state.
 
Allows individual to work one on one with students without staff supervision
Required annually with prior approval of building principal
Complete FBI/MO Highway Patrol background check with fingerprints
Reimbursed in full for volunteers and support staff only pending district approval of employment or volunteer status.
